When I originally wrote “Thursday Nights, I included more than 40 pages of Max’s history with Chloe. I explained how the couple first met, how he fell in love with her, and how she gradually manipulated him until he gave up all of the people in his life that meant so much to him. Chloe, that nasty bitch, told Max, that Gage tried to hit on her!!! Here is a deleted scene of the verbal and physical confrontation that took place between Max and Gage that ended their friendship for three years!
**Remember the following is unedited work that WAS eventually REMOVED from the story…therefore it may be disjointed and …well…kind of funky, but I think you will get what was going on…and you will get to see another view of Max’s pain AND another time that Gage stepped-up to be an incredible friend. You will also see why I was SO happy when I got to kill Chloe! heehee!
I hope you enjoy!
Max was at the garage setting up to start work on a Harley, waiting for Gage to come in. Gage loved working on the Harleys so they would usually work on them together. It was late and Gage was never late. Then again, Max was early. He had gone to bed early. Chloe had a girl’s night out, he heard her stumble in around two a.m but he was too tired to acknowledge her and she seemed too drunk to care. When he got up this morning, Chloe was snoring softly and he didn’t have the heart to wake her so he dressed quietly and slipped out. Gage came into the garage looking like shit.
Max laughed, “Rough night brother?” Gage didn’t laugh.
“Max, we need to talk.” Max realized his friend was about to get serious.
“Sebastian, what’s wrong? I’ll help you any way I can…you know that.” Gage started pacing and Max knew whatever his friend was about to say he was not going to like. “Sebastian,” Max repeated.
“God, I don’t even know where to begin,” Gage was speaking out loud wringing his hands together but Max wasn’t sure if he was talking to him so he stood quietly and listened to Gage’s monologue. “She is not a good person. She never was. I just thought…I thought if you loved her enough…if she loved you enough…”
Max felt his pulse quicken, “Say what you want to say Gage,” Max gritted through his teeth.
“Max, Chloe came on to me last night and I’m not talking harmless flirting. I was a bar with some chick I picked up and I saw Chloe talking to these two guys. Her friends were at a different table watching her and laughing. Chloe looked up and saw me watching her. At first I thought she would get embarrassed and walk away but she didn’t. She finished whatever conversation she was having and then she came over to me. She asked me if I like what I saw. I told her that I didn’t like watching her flirt with men that weren’t her husband. She told me that she bet I wouldn’t mind if she were flirting with me. I told her she was drunk and she should probably go home. She walked away.”
Max exhaled that wasn’t so bad he thought, I mean yeah she shouldn’t have been flirting like that but…his thoughts were interrupted by Gage.
“I’m not done yet, I’m sorry Max.” Gage closed his eyes breathed in deep and continued talking, ”I walked the chick I was talking to out to her car and then came back into the bar. I figured I would wait around to make sure that Chloe wasn’t driving home drunk. I went to the bathroom and on my way back she cornered me in the hallway. She puts one hand on my chest and her other hand on my…my…dick and she says ‘now this is something I would kill to get my lips around’”
Max wondered if Gage could see that his words were actually killing him. Before Gage could say another thing, Max hauled back and punched him square in the jaw. This was the first punch that had ever been thrown between these two men. Gage held his jaw and clenched his other fist. He really didn’t want to hit Max.
“What the fuck man? Do you think I want to tell you that your wife is a lying whore?” Max let out a roar that could only come from a dying man and he lounged for Gage.
“You get one more hit brother and then I start hitting back,” Gage shouted. Max was using Gage’s body like a punching bag.
“We are not brothers you son of a bitch,” Max screamed
Just as Max was about to land another punch, Gage started throwing punches of his own. Both men were broken and bleeding when the other mechanics caught on to what was happening and broke up the fight.
“Fuck you Gage! Fuck You!” Max called as he gathered his things and left The Gage Garage for the last time.
